Soap & Glory - Trick and Treatment

For the past week I have been trying soap and glory's trick and treatment. This product is a concealer designed to neutralise dark circles. I love soap and glory's quirky packaging and most of their products that I have previously tried have been really good quality.

This product is yellow toned which is supposed to help correct any darkness, it has glitter in it - I was a bit worried about this, but when I tried it, it wasn't noticeable at all.
It comes in a lip gloss shaped tube. The product itself is really easy to blend and easy to build up. There was one problem I had with it and that was that because I suffer with dry skin it did clung to some of my dry patches around my eyes. I did like this product and compared to a lot of the high end under eye concealers it is relatively cheap.
RRP - £9.00

Wishlist #1

There are always things that you want but don't need, so I thought I would do a wish list post (secretly hoping that one of my family members or friends will see it and remember its my birthday in a few months!).

(Le Teint Touche Éclat Foundation, Essie Nail polish, Cath Kidston Changing bag)

What are your recent wants? If you have done a wish list, post a comment with the link so I can have a look!

Joliebox - September 2012

Today I finally received my Joliebox! I have been waiting on this arriving as the first one that was sent to me got lost in the post!
So this month's Joliebox is a London Fashion week special - it includes 3 full sized products, one sample sized product and a few extra sachets to try. My box also included an extra full sized item as it is my first ever order!

Balmi - Lip Balm

This was the product that I was the most excited about. I have seen loads of great reviews on these - everyone's favourite seems to be the raspberry flavour unfortunately I didn't get that one I got the mint. I love the packaging of these, they are very similar to the EOS balms, I can't comment on the actual product as I haven't tried the EOS. Balmi have SPF 15 and they contain shea butter, jojoba oil and vitamin E, so they are supposed to keep the lips very moisturised, these retail at £5.00. I will do a review on this once I have used it for a couple of weeks!

I love... Mango face mask

Im looking forward to trying this, it says that it "refreshes skin and removes dead skin cells." This is a full size 15ml product. I can't find the price for this online, on the I love.. website it is in the "what's new" section but no price is advertised- i'm guessing it would be no more than £1.00.

So Susan - Wide Awake

This was my added extra for my first order with joliebox. It looks pretty but I have only seen bad reviews on this product, so I will try it and then I'll write my view on it within the next couple of weeks. RRP - £15.00

 REDKEN straightening lotion

Redken is a popular brand you can buy their products online or in some salons. I don't straighten my hair that often so I don't know how much use I will get out of this.

twistbands

I didn't really understand these when I first saw them but after reading more about them they seem quite handy. Basically you can tie your hair up with these and when you take them out you won't have a kink, if these work I will carry one around with me in my bag for sure!

Dr Bragi - bio marine exfoliant

98% natural ingredients - designed to eliminate dead skin cells. I'm looking forward to try this. RRP = £25 for 50ml.

So Overall I am quite happy with my first Joliebox - It took me ages to decide whether to order Joliebox or GlossyBox - If you subscribe to either of these let me know what you think is best - Glossy or Jolie?

Oopsy Daisy! I Went Shopping Again!

So as you can see from the title I went into town again! Whilst in Boots I noticed that they had an ESSIE stand, it looked so pretty that I had to buy one (it would be rude not to eh?!).
I decided to get a deep red it is called Russian roulette. Now, I have never used Essie - I know how appalling is that, but our boots has only just started selling it recently so I haven't been able to go out and buy it, I don't like buying nail polishes online as the colours never look the same when you see them in real life.

I have heard only good things about the ESSIE polishes and when I used it I saw what all the fuss was about. It is really good quality, it has a maxi brush, I only had to apply one coat and I have been wearing it for a few days now and it hasnt chipped. One downside to ESSIE is the price but for the quality I think it is actually worth it!

These retail at  £8.50 each, but I will let you in on a little secret - If you go to www.fragrancedirect.co.uk they have a few colours on here for £1.99 (BARGAIN) - but everytime I look here there aren't so many colours so you'll have to be quick!

Boohoo blogger challenge

The challenge was to put together an outfit for £50 or less from Boohoo.com to celebrate Boohoo being recently named one of the www.fashionvouchers.com Top 10 Fashion Money Saving websites.

I thought I'd have a go at this because you have to be in it to win it, I imagined it would be easy and just take me few minutes to do, but I was very wrong. It is hard to make a full outfit with just £50 . I began by trying to make a night out sort of outfit, but this was to tricky with the price limit, so I decided to do a casual everyday kind of look, this was far easier for me. So below is my final attempt:

  • Helena Studded Shoulder Jumper - £20.00
  • Destiny super skinny zip side jeans - £10.00
  • Anastasia Black Suedette Slippers - £15.00
  • Sofia Diamante Stud Earrings - £5.00
  •

I love knit wear and due to our awful weather i have pretty much been living in it.
Everyone needs a good pair of skinny jeans!
Some comfortable flat shoes - I only wear heels on nights out and special occasions (I'm a bit of a wimp and cant handle wearing them all day!)
To finish it off I added these simple stud earrings.

Why don't you have a go - Visit www.boohoo.com and see what you can come up with!

A mini shopping Spree.....

I went shopping yesterday, mainly to buy some new clothes but I came across a couple of make-up goodies that I needed and I thought I would share them with you!

So I was in Superdrug and thought I really need some more foundation - but I was feeling lazy and couldn't be bothered to walk to the other end of town to Debenhams for my usual Estee lauder - plus I couldn't bare to pay full price and stupid me I'd just missed the sale! Anyway I was looking at the foundations and noticed Maxfactor's Colour adapt, now I like the majority of maxfactor's products beacuse they are good quality, I tried it on my hand and it seemed to have good coverage and it felt nice and smooth, so I picked it up, it was £9.99 and I got it in the colour 45.Warm almond. I do think that the packaging is a bit of a disappointment it just looks cheap its made of plastic unlike the more high end foundations which are made of glass, but I will see how it goes - you never know it could save me a lot of money!

Before I went to pay I popped over to the MeMeMe display as I cant resist it. I picked up some MeMeMe long wear satin lip cream, these come in really cute packaging they each have different goddess's on the side of the box and each have a different goddess's name. The one I got has Hemera on it and the colour is Coral Cloak. I have tried these before and they are long lasting and the colours are really pretty. The only down side of these are they do smell a bit cheap but I can put up with that as the colours make up for it! These retail at £8.50 but are currently on offer on the MeMeMe website for £6.50 - which is a bargain!

Here are a few of my favourite nail polishes...

Hi, I just thought I would do a quick post on some of my favourite nail polishes. I am a sucker for a pretty nail polish.... my all time favourite brand is the Barry M nail paints, as you will see most of these are Barry M, but there are a couple of others chucked in here too!

Nail Paint by Barry M: Colour = 308 Berry

Barry M Basecoat Topcoat & Nail Hardener ALL IN ONE

Nail Paint by Barry M: Colour = 150 Red Glitter

Nails Inc: Colour = Jermyn Street

CHANEL LE VERNIS: Colour = 307 Orange Fizz

MeMeMe: Colour = 68 Generous

Nail Paint by Barry M: Colour = 279 Bright Pink

Nail Paint by Barry M: Colour = 296 Coral

Nail Paint by Barry M: Colour = 318 Peach melba

Nail Paint by Barry M: Colour = 302 FUCHSIA

(10ml)Barry M nail varnishes are amazing, they are easy to apply and last for ages without chipping they retail at £2.99 which is really cheap for a good nail polish.

(13ml)Chanel Le Vernis - These are really pretty nail polishes they come in lots of cute colours, and come out nice and glossy. There are two downsides to the Chanel polishes  1 - They are expensive (they retail at £17.50 - £18.00) and 2- they chip quite easily, if you don't mind re-applying then it's worth having a look at the wide colour range.

(12ml)MeMeMe are gorgeous nail polishes they come out glossy and they have  maxi brush technology (the brush is wider than usual brushes). The polish also dries really quick which is handy for me as I have a 5 month old daughter so the quicker a nail polish drys the easier for me! These retail at £4.50.

Some More MeMeMe

Some more products from MeMeMe. If you haven't read my previous post about Mememe -this is a lovely brand and the products are very similar to some more high end cosmetics. MeMeMe is cheap, quality and pretty.

Blush Me! Colour = Bronze. RRP: £8.50
As I have written in my previous post, MeMeMe blush me blushers are lovely and if you have used Benefit's blusher/bronzers they are pretty much identical apart from MeMeMe blushers are a lot cheaper!
This blush me is in bronze - This is a great natural bronze. The box comes with a small brush which is really cute and the box has a mirror inside.

Boho Balm Colour = Pink Rouge. RRP £6.50
This is a new product from MeMeMe its a lip and cheek balm. I have tried other cheek balms before and haven't been a fan as I have found them sticky on the skin but this one isn't sticky, you do have to use quite a bit to make it show up on your skin though. Both of the shades look nice on lips, their nice, smooth and easy to apply and are very moisturising.
This is a handy product just to keep in your handbag so that you can top up whilst out. It comes in two shades this one that I have is pink rouge and the other one is coral taupe which is darker.
